The Powderworks Tour construction marks a significant breakthrough in carbon ski technology. Never before have skis this lightweight exhibited this level of damping and dynamic edge-to-edge power and downhill performance. If we’re honest, we struggled through our decision to label them ‘touring’ skis because the clear consensus from the field is that their downhill performance transcends the category. This is a ski to get excited about. The hypothetical Holy Grail of ski layups combines the right balance of lightness with powerful rebound characteristics and adequate damping. Usually, the achievement of one of these qualities comes at the expense or detriment of the others. In this Powderworks build, we have taken our versatile, yet playful new 100RP shape and optimized the rocker profile for a wide range of backcountry conditions. We then mated it with a no-holds-barred, no-expense-spared high strength aerospace foam coupled with a fresh carbon laminate. While ultra-lightweight touring skis usually resemble uninspiring, moldy potato chips on the way down, we present a 100RP that is a rare breed of wild animal. It’s a ridiculously light sidewall construction that is not only the ultimate in uphill performance for the biggest, longest missions, but is a joy to actually ski. The low swing weight combined with high torsional stiffness and springy rebound performance enable effortless and powerful transitions from edge-to-edge, and subsequently transmit unique, blissful sensations through the boots and soul of the rider.
