Using double layers of titanal increases performance on hard packed snow significantly. The skier will get superior edge grip and high speed stability.
Poplar wood has low density, while beech wood has higher density and absorbs vibrations very good. The mix between the two makes a ski playful, yet stable on hard packed snow.
Most ski vibrations occur in the tip and tail, and then transmit into the center of the ski. To reduce this we use Rubber Dampening in both tip and tail.
A completely new model within the Frontside segment – wide piste skis – developed for skiers who want playful piste skis for the entire season with fantastic performance. The skis are characterized by a superb edge grip and are optimized for all type of piste conditions, whether that is icy pre-season or spring snow slopes.
Our piste skis are a little bit wider, because a slope is rarely smooth and hard from morning to evening. Despite a wider waist the skis have an incredible edge grip on hardpack, at the same time it creates floatation and makes them easy to manoeuvre if the slopes are soft. The construction is very similar to race skis with double layers of titanal and race rubber-dampening membranes, but the geometry is made for everyday piste skiing.
Frontier 80 is perfect if you want shorter radius and a ski that is very quick from edge to edge. If you prefer longer radius and want to ski with more speed, we would recommend the Frontier 85.
