The Freeride core features a center backbone of ash which gives the ski longitudinal stiffness, great shock absorbtion, and helps transmit energy swiftly from the binding mounts to the length of the ski ensuring precise edge control and stability. Coupled with bamboo for pop and energy retention and poplar for damping and flex, these cores help the skis devour chunder and chop and ride silky smooth in powder and on hardpack. The Floaties benefit from a stiffer platform underfoot than the Tomorrows to soak up variable conditions and give confidence on steeper slopes.
Unlike most All Mountain skis, the Tomorrows are designed around a progressive skier stance with the binding platform, sidecut, and taper designed for maximum agility with 55% of the ski in front of the skier and 45% behind him. Think of it like a high performance mid-engine supercar. Low swing-weight combined with even weight distribution gives the ski superior handling capabilities and stability at high speeds.
A 3-Dimensional curve lifts the contact point just off the snow when the ski is unloaded for quick transitions and easy style. Under flex the shape in the tip and tail engages the edge and effectively extends the sidecut nearly to the tips for a thrilling and stable ride while carving and shredding at high speed.
Based on the amazing Tomorrow All-Mountain platform, the Chickadees are a limited release women’s ski featuring the artwork of Elizabeth Kurtak, a local skier in Fraser, CO and close friend of 7 Mile Skis. They are currently offered on a per-order basis and each will be carefully hand-made to fill each individual order. Please allow up to 4 weeks for delivery.
The Chickadees are a veritable one-ski quiver able to charge through any conditions with lightning fast responsiveness and confidence inspiring stability. Chickadees offer the best of both worlds between our park and powder ski, a versatile go to freestyle/freeride ski. Taking some of the rocker from a powder ski and some of the symmetry of the park ski with a nice platform for stomping drops or spinning kickers the Chickadees keep tight turns while maintaining low drag/catch and lots of float in the soft.
