  The top-of-the-line models in the VÖLKL Alpine ski range boast a special wood core tuning system - all powered by titanium. Above and below the XTD Sensor Wood Core or XTD Wood Core, there is a layer of titanium reinforcing the ski and adding power and stability. The thin yet extremely strong aluminium alloy extends its unparalleled dampening properties particularly at high speeds.

  In ski racing, the line between victory and defeat is measured in hundredths of seconds. We develop our race skis with that precise measurement of difference and distinction consciously in mind. For the season 2014/15 instead of taking the sidewalls and woodcores as two distinct construction elements, we merged the two components into a unique element refered to our Perfect Setup philosophy.
  The result is a brand new SPEEDWALL MULTILAYER WOODCORE where the side wall is laminated to extremely stable layers of wood on the sides of the sandwich core. In combination with a more flexible, lighter wood built into the center of the sandwich core construction provides numerous advantages:

  • The hardwood part immediately adjacent to the sidewall effects a higher power transmission, improves the edge grip and supports the edge against external forces
  • The low weight of the softwood part in the middle of the ski brings more agility and maneuverability and reduces overall ski weight
  • The combination of both wood types running through the entire ski length contributes to an optimal distribution of the ski stiffness increasing the steering precision

  Effect:
  Makes it easier to turn the ski. The cambered area underneath the foot and at the tail provides control and support for novices and intermediates.
• UVO (Ultimate Vibration Object)
  

  UVO - Ultimate Vibration Object - Völkl впервые применили в сезоне 2013/2014 в моделях Racetiger RC UVO, Racetiger SC UVO и Code UVO. Основное назначение этой технологии - снижение вибраций лыжи при езде по неровной поверхности. Визуально UVO - это «нашлепка» в районе носка лыжи и по сути является дальнейшим совершенствованием системы MODmonic от K2. Система свободно закреплена и имеет эффект «плавающей массы», которая движется в направлении, противоположном вибрации, создавая гасильные колебания. Как утверждают в Völkl применение такой технологии позволили сделать лыжи легче, не потеряв при этом в стабильности и хватке кантов.
