• MULTI-LAYER WOOD CORE
  

  Völkl freeskiing models feature a multi-layer wood core that features two different densities of wood. In the binding attachment area, a dense, ash core is used, while in the rest of the ski, the core is poplar. The more dense wood creates more secure screw retention, preventing binding pull-out, and the soft, supple poplar section allows for resilience and snap.
• POWERED BY TITANIUM

  The top-of-the-line models in the VÖLKL Alpine ski range boast a special wood core tuning system - all powered by titanium. Above and below the XTD Sensor Wood Core or XTD Wood Core, there is a layer of titanium reinforcing the ski and adding power and stability. The thin yet extremely strong aluminium alloy extends its unparalleled dampening properties particularly at high speeds.
• SPEEDWALL
  

  A ski with sidewalls - not a new idea in and of itself, but Völkl reinvents this historic construction and takes it to the next level with its SPEEDWALL technology.

  Modern racers spend more time on their sidewalls and edges than their bases.  For the first time we've taken this development to its logical conclusion in two new Racetiger models. The innovation is that we view the sidewalls not just as lateral boundaries to the skis, but rather as a continuation of the surface that contacts the snow. That's why we construct the new Speedwalls out of a proprietary composite sintered base material - SPEEDWALL sidewalls can be waxed and treated with the same products as the bases. For athletes that means less friction and more speed.
• TIP & TAIL ROCKER
  

  Effect:
  Makes the ski turn-friendly and allows for a stiffer flex setup. A longer ski can be selected.

The new Kendo with 92 mm width under the binding is built with a Titanal Frame and Carbon Tips. The titanal construction runs over the full length and strengthens the sidewalls as well as the tips of the ski, providing more stability and dampening. At the same time the middle section of the ski becomes stronger and allows a softer setup. As a result the ski becomes extremely lively and as well as stable even at the highest speeds. A Multilayer woodcore, framed by full sidewalls and a P-Tex 2100 base underneath rounds up the premium construction.
