Völkl freeskiing models feature a multi-layer wood core that features two different densities of wood. In the binding attachment area, a dense, ash core is used, while in the rest of the ski, the core is poplar. The more dense wood creates more secure screw retention, preventing binding pull-out, and the soft, supple poplar section allows for resilience and snap.
Effect: Makes the ski turn-friendly and allows for a stiffer flex setup. A longer ski can be selected.
When not competing on the Revolt 87, Völkl team riders ski the Revolt 85, which is designed to party in the park, due to its tip and tail rocker and a shape of 112-85-112 mm. For riders who want a well-equipped ski that will ride equally well switch or forward, the 85 features a symmetrical shape with a full sidewall and Multi-Layer wood core.
