Laminates such as fbreglass or carbon-fbre are used to compliment the properties of the core material by increasing torsional strength, edge-grip and rebound.
Our standard core material. Poplar is a medium-weight, damp, vibration-absorbing softwood. Ash is a heavier hardwood that compliments the Poplar by increasing stiffness, responsiveness and providing a solid base for the binding screws.
Used on most of our skis. A traditional manufacturing method that provides strength, durability, good grip and edge hold. Rubber is used to dampen vibration and bond the base layers to the core.
Used on 90% of our skis, silkscreen printing provides bright, strong colours that help our skis pop off the walls in-store. Unlike the sublimation process used by many of our competitors, very little waste is created using this method, and water-based inks are used to reduce environmental impact.
STP Technology is a patent-pending process used to press a small wave into the length of the ski. This creates a ‘pre-stressed’ core with increased torsional strength, letting us use less wood to create lighter, more forgiving skis with above-average edge-grip. For 14/15, we have developed a variation of the technique that provides a perfectly flat base.
Tip & tail rocker with varying amounts of camber underfoot gives maximum versatility and float off-piste.
Like a Swiss Army Knife, the Prodigy is an ideal tool for all situations. Whether you find yourself cruising the piste, snaking through moguls, getting face shots in fresh snow or dabbling in the park, the Prodigy handles it all.. How do we get such versatility? Through a combination of design features; STP technology adds torsional stiffness and edge grip on hard pack and piste, the 98mm waist with rocker in the tip and tail makes it playful, easy to turn and still float through the powder, this ski excels at it all.
