For 2014-15, Hybrid T2 enters the mix mating DPS’ award-winning design and shaping with a newly engineered metal laminate construction giving core skiers a classic, but superior race room ride. In its inaugural year, Hybrid T2 debuts in the mixed snow/all-around category in the new Wailer 105 and the frontside/all-mountain Cassiar 85. Hybrid T2 construction skis will continue to expand into skis with waist widths that are 105mm and below, while composite laminate blends will remain for higher waist width shapes. Hybrid T2, like its DPS construction siblings, features the hardest and fastest carbon race bases available, and a new chamfered top-edge to reduce topsheet chipping.

Truly Unique, DPS Pure3 construction makes for the most advanced and highest performance skis on earth. Pure3: Carbon+Nano features exclusive aerospace carbon and nanotech technology, and the absolute finest accompanying materials. Revolutionary on both paper and on snow, the Pure3 construction showcases years of research and refinement in a ski that is 30 percent lighter than conventional constructions, while at the same time 30 percent torsionally stiffer, stronger, and more powerful.

DPS is proud to announce a new chapter in the carbon ski revolution by introducing a fourth construction option to its lineup. Tour1 is a targeted lightweight backcountry build that emphasizes fast ascents and class-leading downhill performance. It is significantly lighter than Pure3, DPS’ flagship construction. Whereas Pure3 is ultimate in advanced ultra-powerful carbon ski technology, Tour1 skis are comparable in weight to the lightest backcountry-specific touring skis on the market while offering competitive differentiation by exhibiting superior, class-leading torsional stiffness, unmatched edge grip and dampening via a proprietary new Tour1 specific aerospace carbon laminate. Why invest energy in long tours if you are forced to ride floppy touring skis that sap the performance and fun out of the descent?
This ski promises to be the "skinny" Wailer 112RP. As a 112RP owner I'm not so sure, but that's just from looking at the specs. DPS did NOT just slim down the 112RP. On paper it seems more like the kinship between the Wailer 99 and the 112RP is similar to that of the Rossi S3 to the S7.
The Wailer 99 has dimensions of 121-99-108 with a sidecut of 18m for the 184cm length. So it's actually a longer radius cut on a shorter ski than the 190cm 112RP. It has quite a pintail design with only 9mm of difference between the waist and the tail dimensions (tail cut). Also when comparing the rocker length specs it looks to have about half that of the 112RP.
DPS does a demo tour every year and I'm hoping they'll have this ski available, but I'm not holding my breath. Most likely won't get on them until SIA unless I actually pull the trigger and buy them. They're $799 in hybrid construction and $1199 for the pure.
