I was having trouble in the crust covered powder, so I rented the Pocket Rocket. This ski is rediculous!! While the XX got stuck in the crud, this ski went right through it no problem. When I was able to hit patches of clean powder, it was like a dream (I was smiling the entire time). If you like the backcounrty, this is THE ski. It did terrible on the groomers; it was squirmish and slow, but who CARES!!!!
Try this ski and you will fall in love too.

Summary:
This is a very lively and fun pair of skis. The width guarantees floatation in the powder and they shine in all other conditions. Surprisingly good on ice and very easy to ski. Recommendable if you're into exploring the whole mountain.

Summary:
I originally bought these boards because I wanted something that was quick turning in tight situations and busted through the NW pow. After demoing a pair I was so impressed I went out and bought them the next day. Once perchanced I found they were much more versatile than my original impressions! The pocket rockets not just whipped through the tight trees, narrow chutes, and float on pretty much everything (including sun baked soup and nasty crud), but provide supper soft landings, and can even take on serious moguls. They are extremely lively once you find their center and will turn on a dime. I have not had a chance to use them on ice so I don't know how they handle there. Their only downfall is at maching down groomers (but you should have never looked at these if you want boards to do that). They are also pretty light and easy to hike with. If you are looking for boards that can handle pretty much everything the Pocket Rockets are it! I do suggest that you demo them first, especially on a powder day.

Summary:
I LOVE these skis. I didnt think they were gonna be able to hold an edge on the hard eastern snowpack, but they shined. Solid base for stomping landings. I have yet to use them in their element, powder, but i've heard great things about them. With a waist of 90cm and a tip of 122cm its hard to imagine them sinking in the pow. Very light! Mine are mounted on Salomon 912ti Pocket Rocket bindings, happy with those too. Great buy, both east and west. One of the best.
