Having a cap construction underfoot and a sidewall on the tip and tail gives these skis the durability of a cap where they need the most protection, while also making sure the tip and tail have the responsiveness and torsional stiffness of sidewall construction.
Borrowed from world-cup race skis, two different radii on the one ski - a tighter radius forward of the boot centre coupled with a 20% larger sidecut behind - increases the edge-to-edge responsiveness so you can carve short turns whilst retaining high speed stability and control through the tail of the ski.
Laminates such as fbreglass or carbon-fbre are used to compliment the properties of the core material by increasing torsional strength, edge-grip and rebound.
Poplar is a softwood that saves weight and has absorbent qualities that increase the ski's dampness, while beech is a hardwood that provides strength and snap, for a playful, responsive ski.
Used on most of our skis. A traditional manufacturing method that provides strength, durability, good grip and edge hold. Rubber is used to dampen vibration and bond the base layers to the core.
STP Technology is a patent-pending process used to press a small wave into the length of the ski. This creates a ‘pre-stressed’ core with increased torsional strength, letting us use less wood to create lighter, more forgiving skis with above-average edge-grip. For 14/15, we have developed a variation of the technique that provides a perfectly flat base.
Blended transition zones" use complex curve geometries where both positive/negative sidecut and where rocker/camber meet to make turn initiation fluid yet the whole ski more stable and controllable in all conditions.
Like a Swiss Army knife, the Heroine is a versatile tool ready for any adventure, whether taking hot laps on the piste, cruising through the park or getting pitted in the soft stuff. Updated for 16/17, A 90mm waist, updated dual-radius sidecut and transition zone technology, poplar/beech core, cap construction and ABS in the tip and tail make the ski feel at home in the moguls and in trees, whilst simultaneously ready for high speed laps on-piste or floaty 360's.
