Our Progressive Flex Core™ features a trio of ash, basswood, and locust. Progressive Flex is the result of a thin strip of black locust wood in the waist of the ski that gradually widens towards the tip and tail, unlike traditional constant width sidewalls. This core produces a light ski with a responsive flex pattern optimized to keep edge hold strong by dampening vibration at the tip and tail. Ash underfoot helps drive the ski through each turn with stability and control.
The Mode is an all-mountain ski ready to rip any terrain out there. Unlike many "all" mountain skis, The Mode performs in crud, powder, groom and hard pack alike. The Progressive Flex Core enables the transfer of power from the tip and tail to underfoot, letting the ski absorb the bumps and be nimble in trees, while still opening up in the deep pow. Don't be fooled by the size of the ski when it comes to the groom and hard pack, The Mode will rail each turn with incredible edge stability. Black locust sidewalls give the edge an unparalleled ability to hold these wider skis in the turn.
